He was on a HIT RECORD!!!! He didn't keep his momentum up. Wtf did he drop that Was worthy of an album release??? He got his BIGGEST look with YM with their BIGGEST artist lol. He couldn't capitalize on that. HIS fault

You are right to an extent...

But if you look at YM/CMB's history of putting artists out after 2005, its not a very high percentage..:yeshrug:

Besides the Big 3, it was tyga and thats pretty much it...if we talking young money:patrice:

Cash Money itself....there is really no roster to speak off:pachaha:

Tyga is easier to push than Cory because his music has more mainstream appeal...

Mystikal was the only nikka who really fukked up..He had the biggest chance outta all and he messed up going back to jail...

No matter how the pie is sliced, the amount of artists that were/is signed to YM/CMB and the actual albums that drop from them is very telling...:leostare:

From when they had 6shot,mikkey to getting starlito and yo gotti's group to brisco and the list goes on and on

this is cory's 3rd deal..the ship has sailed imo...I know there is a lane for him somewhere....but where that is, i dont know..

In the sky
Switched to a wack voice and wack "sillyme riddleme energy bynergy" rhyming style. Sh!t was annoying. And nobody was checking for him. He switched it up again....but its Too Late..it's GONE.

He dropped the DatzWTFImTalkinBout mixtape, which was fire.

He suffers from that Lloyd Banks syndrome. Talented but no work ethic to promote himself.

i think it bigger than that...

Lets be honest...

nikkas like Cory Gunz or NY nikkas are the hardest to promote in these times...

if your chorus game aint poppin, your DOA right now

If he is shooting vids etc, he is doing his part..

To really get there as a ny artist, you kinda need those extra dollars behind you in this current climate..

YM/CMB not putting no bread behind him until he makes something that "sounds like a hit"..

Which is sad, because hip hop aint all about hooks, but thats where we at with it

You need to be consistent. That's all it is. Joey Badass doesn't have catchy hooks and shyt but he's selling.

Cory Gunz was on a hit song with Lil Wayne. He didn't capitalise, he caught a gun charge and decided to lay low.

I remember when he dropped a song called "Foreign", it sounded like a hit. Breh didn't even drop a video or nothing. Just faded away

There's NY artists like Joey Badass and Flatbush Zombies that had no YM level machine behind them and have found way more success than Corey. They put out consistent music, videos, and toured the world off mixtapes. That college/overseas crowd is where it's at. Street artists have to go mainstream for success and Corey isn't a good enough song writer for that.

Cash Money has a poor history of dropping albums from people not named drake, nicki,or lil wayne...

If Joey was on YM/CMB, his shyt would be in the vault as well..

Does Cory shoulder some blame..yes...the gun charge didnt help..

But Ym/CMB just isnt for him...

he needs to go the gille route

That's not fair, they give you the look to get on. You gotta do it. Tyga was shelf then he grinded on the tapes and got his biggest hit.

Bad luck....

Almost as bad as tony sunshine bad luck..

bx nikkas get deals and get caught up in whatever label bullshyt and be at square 1 again

His own fault really, no team, no work ethic. And catching b.s cases. Usual bullshyt. He had a TV show on MTV, millions viewed. He wasn't going hard with Nick Cannon backing him either? Lol who gives a fukk. Should have stayed n the booth and stayed dropping songs til he got one. Ya buzz don't last forever.

That "6'7" shyt was so dope to me, like next level dope, until Cory's verse. The flow was nuts but what the hell was he talking about? Hahaa, all gibberish
