What happened to Fashawn's career?

I'm listening to his first album Boy Meets World (2009). He had Exile on the production and I vividly remember a lot of good reviews about this album.

Thinking back to the time (2006-2009), he was bubbling at the same time as cats like: Dom Kennedy, Blu, Nipsey Hussle, Pac Div, UNI, and TDE on a smaller level than they are now.

Basically the cats on that Curly Tops and Nautica Jackets tape

But it's crazy how most of the guys I named up there never reached the level they were destined to. Dom and Nip are still doing it, TDE, YG, and the rest of these cats are running the game from what I can tell

Boy Meets World and The Antidote were solid and so was Ode to Illmatic, even though Elzhi crushed the buildings with his take on Illmatic.

What happened to duke? Haven't seen any projects from him in a minute.

one of my favorite mc's but i feel like he's been trying too hard to please everyone with the types of songs he makes. needs to do that focused 1 producer/1 mc album and crush shyt

Will Ecology ever see the light of day

Not in the same vein as the Antidote, but ALC and him needs to bless us with another joint collabo

And, since Nas is signing people now, he would be good fit on Mass Appeal

Seems like he tried to catch the stoner popularity wave but failed miserably. Fashawn's the type of rapper that needs to slowly build a fanbase and grow in popularity through word of mouth. Boy Meets World was excellent. He's still young, hopefully he gets it together and stops trying to appeal to the masses in exchange for watered down music.

He's right, Exiles beats are light, but they suit both Blu and Fashawn perfectly

remember seeing him with Blu at a show a few years back right after Below the Heavens dropped. Honestly, he ripped the show better than Blu.
Would love to see them both on a project together....real talented cats.
