Dude can rap and has a lot of talent. I used to listen to him in high school. Dizzy Wright too.
But I think he came up in the wrong era. This generation of kids don’t care about lyricism and wordplay. He never changed his style to appeal to mainstream consumers and I don’t think he ever signed with a mainstream label. Collabing with mainstream artist might have helped him crossover but he struck me as someone who didn’t want to crossover so he lived with the results.

Dude became the afterthought meme like Macamore's goofy cac ass when white folks did the whole "real hip hop" bullshyt, just to skate over the fact that the game changed hip hop wise around the time.

Not much space in his lane. Ab-Soul is another one who would have been bigger in another area but after 2012 didn't happen it's like his career lost interest and he loss focus.

I use to fukk with Hopsin back in college but a couple of missteps happened with the biggest one which was beefing with Swizz and his brother.
You can’t have beef with Oddfuture, Horseshoe gang and your own man swizz at the same time.
Add in the fact Jarren Benton ditched them to be friends with Justin Bieber and Hopsin and funk volume lost all momentum
