Hold this L OP.
You must be Chinese or something. Lin's PER over the season is 14.4, which means he's barely above a role player. Lin is basically a good role player. Given all the hype some people give him, you'd expect to at least be very good, not some role player. @Gab88 is more right than wrong.

Offensively Lin's real plus-minus (how much he contributes to his offense) is 0.04, which is like 5 times less than what Patrick Beverly contributes to his offense at 0.22. So Lin contributes to his offense overall less than Beverly, who honestly doesn't contribute that much either.
In addition Lin is an average to below average defender:

I like Lin as a player but there's too much caping for an average player only because he's Chinese. No one makes threads about Beverly, and Beverly is a better defender.
That chart says Kemba is a better defender than Lin and that is hilariously untrue.
