This. I love the Wayans Brothers and will always give them a chance based on what they did in the 90's and with Scary Movie 1 & 2. I always liked Marlon the most, but his personal projects haven't been good to me, and I hate saying it because I root for him so hard. The problem is, he doesn't need to direct, produce, cast, etc. Whenever everything is all on him, he falls flat. He needs his movies to be directed by his brothers, or damn near anyone other than himself. He can hold the leading role, he just doesn't have to do everything in the background as well. Some people are just actors and that's okay. Some people are just comedians and that's okay.

I remember him roasting Scary Movie 5 while he was on his promotional tour for Haunted House like that was gonna be the parody movie we were all waiting for. That shyt was hot garbage.

Yea, just the trailer for the Sextuplets seemed over top. The characters seemed too unrealistic. Remember the nutty professor, Eddie Murphy played a lot of characters and you can imagine a family like the Klumps in real life. Not with this sextuplets shyt though. It looks like he's taking over the top fictional characters and trying to plug them into a universe based on reality. Now I haven't seen it yet, but I hope it's better than the trailer. I want Marlon to win, but I can't let my bias cloud the truth.

Saw Sextuplets. His comedy never scales. He's smart, but always takes a safe route.
He's just on autopilot and this movie is a formulaic money grab.

It's like he knows that he has the skill to be better, but he's protecting the family brand, by playing the same character every time.
