MMG woulda got him higher profile features. Outside of his west coast brethren, he doesn't get the same level of features and production his counterparts get. Even Stalley to this day can get a Migos feature
If people wanted to work with dom they would, same with him. There’s plenty of LA cats dom don’t even work with, he’s about his people. Dude is still putting teeflii on songs instead of Chris brown, ty$ or even Eric bellinger. Y’all act like people don’t weigh the pros and cons of this. Features haven’t gotten stalley anywhere, he ain’t even got the following of dom, wale’s whole style didn’t fit with mmg and despite finally moving units on his second album, while abandoning part of his original fanbase, he’s been a dud otherwise, folks like cyhi were on GOOD music at its peak and you couldn’t find a casual who knows that name

people like nip, dom, spitta can pass on the big labels as they care about really doing the music they want to do for the people who rock with them

Meek still on MMG despite the legal wrangling/Roc Nation fukkery.

Surprised Ross didn't even try to usher in a new crop of young artists. Kinda a more extreme version of what TDE did. Sure TDE brought in SZA who is a star but overall it seems like they just let shyt stagnate. In Ross' case he just let his shyt straight up die.
he’s rich and got wingstop franchises. he prolly like fukk it at this point.

:dahell:

That shyt just vanished? Is it still running? Are Meek and Wale still there?
Nobody wants to sign with Ross because of his image. All these dudes is street rappers and Ross was a CO that shyt hurt him bad, he's backed with CAC money so hell have a great career but the streets dont fukk with him. Ross need to go find some rappers like J Cole and R&B artist. He wants to be a street label and that ain't gone fly:mjlol:

I disagree with everybody saying Wale didn’t fit. Wale became a star with MMG.

This was same dude who had a song with Lady Gaga and nobody cared. And the song sucked
:mjlol:

This nikka gotta Grammy under MMG. Wale fell off becuz of Wale. MMG was the best thing that ever happened him. I liked the fact that Ross was signing a variety of artists instead of just a certain type. He was playing the long game but it didn’t work out as planned. They had a nice run tho

Meek kept going to jail.

Wale never really fit a la Spitta on Young Money

Gunplay had too many legal issues.

Meek and Ross got money disputes.

For not being a real organic group/label they left a footprint tho

Agree with this 100% and that first part was my original point. Nothing about them seemed seamless, but they still managed to make some good stuff.

I agree they were kind of an odd mix and didn’t seem like they really would fukk with each other musically or in real life. They had some heat for a minute though.

I think they lost something when it didn’t work out with Pill though. He was a needed element. Ross did the trap/mafioso stuff, Wale added some punchlines and wordplay, Meek brought the street/struggle stuff, and Pill brought energetic southern lyrical trap talk. The 4 of them pulled off a really good album despite being pretty different stylistically.

Pill didn’t work cause nothing at all about him stood out.
