I never blame labels for everything, but TDE has a lot of business issues that are killing the careers of their roster.

They sit on whole projects forever, and basically refuse to release them. DJ Dahi said he's done a lot of production for projects on the label that he says will probably never see the light of day. Kendrick doesn't need any push because his name alone sells itself. SZA has built a nice following, but even she had to fight to get her music out. The other artists always seem to be in limbo. Recording and recording, but not able to get a budget to actually release much. That's a money and business issue that Top is going to have to figure out. You can't ask for loyalty and not take care of your people. Definitely looks like this isn't going to end well.
Kendrick aint with TDE anymore. He's doing cryptic "PG LANG" posts

Blame TDE for thinking everyone is Kendrick and can disappear for years without losing attention/fanbase. I just don't understand why TDE has decided to starve their artists when a project isn't out. In 2011-2014, TDE dudes were everywhere doing features. Outside of that Gibbs track when is the last time Q did a noteworthy feature? Where is Ab Soul? Jay Rock had a big year, not long ago, and then completely disappeared too with no features. This just isn't good business. TDE lucked into getting a second superstar (SZA), something that hasn't happened to any label outside of Young Money...and they still aren't playing it right.

Crash Talk was terrible, and I thought it was super weird how Q kept shytting on Blankface during that promo process. In reality Blankface did better no matter what he tries to say (sales wise). I'm not sure where he's gonna go next though. He's gonna have to really up his hook game to make any impact next time.

I agree with this! Dreamville suffers from this also though all of those dudes are literally lite subpar copies of other artists

Overall it seems like they release regularly though right? They had a big year a couple years ago and seem to be doing their thing. None are popping though, outside of the main guy (Cole).

I thought DAMN, Control (SZA’s album), and the Black Panther album would set TDE up for another run. Instead they kinda did nothing. Jay Rock did his thing in 2018 but since then it’s been crickets.

LOL!! Those dudes are definitely weaker bootleg versions of much better MC's. I've been saying that forever.

You see it

I’ll have to look into it. I think it’s been on average 3 years since any of dropped a solo project but JID and earth gang are fairly new And dropped a spillage village album last year

I know the compilation album went platinum or number 1 but I think they were expecting it to be bigger than it was to setup the artists better.

His last album was really good, one of my favorites of that year and still in rotation occasionally:yeshrug:

TDE just isn't consistent in putting out music

Didnt schoolboy q always say he doesnt like rapping or the shyt that comes with it?

and yeah tde is the weirdest label i can imagine. All that talent and only 2 artist are able to get pushed. Jay rock had the album of the year and i guess when they realized the public thought so
Too, he got a bit of a push.

dude would rather golf

if he got enough money, i don't really blame him

:manny:

on top of that i think bro just had another child too

id imagine he’s doing well and enjoying wealth

in addition to what folk have been saying about his attitude w blankface, its odd to me how he’s obviously a top level lyricist from a lot of his singles and features but crash talk doesnt really reflect that

someone earlier in the thread said hes chasing that kendrick commercial success and that might be the case, either way his music would be best off if he stuck to his artistic pocket
