What happened to Soul Music?

Dudes still waiting on what yall mean by 'soul' music... cause while i like a lot of the songs posted in the thread, most of them sound like electronica...

are we really saying what happened to songs with decent singers on it that arent about cliche'ed rap&bullshyt topics?

i really am trying to understand what music you mean by 'soul'

Thats what I am trying to get at...

the production I am hearing in thread really isn't one specific genre or even that similar to each other... it certainly doesnt sound like 60s or 70s 'soul' music, nor late 90s or early 2000s 'neo soul' nor contemporary R&B...

to me just seems like good singers singing heartfelt tracks without using the standard pop music/r&b music/hip hop music topics...

Someone else can probably better explain it to you. I haven't really listened to anything else in the thread, but as for the track I posted, I can say that you wouldn't really hear that type of production in a traditional Pop/R&B record.
