last year he averaged damn near 11 assists on a terrible suns team and this year he's barely over 7

I see why you're in the red.

He's been everything Lakers fans could have hoped for. He's posting his usual 50/40/90 shooting percentages and still dishing out 7 assists a game. We all knew his defense was gonna be dog shyt, but he's still been a huge improvement offensively over the PGs LA's had for the past...shyt, since Nick Van Exel.

My only complaint is it seems like he's had more reckless turnovers this year than I've ever seen.

people who don't watch games and just look at numbers are morons and threads like this prove it

those suns teams may have been terrible but they had alot of great knock down shooters......Nash got those assists numbers by running around picks all day and then kicking the ball out.......even the center on those suns teams could hit 3s

the Lakers aren't built for that type of ball since we don't have the shooters......Kobe is more of an isolation scorer not a catch and shoot player......Metta is horrible at shooting......Pau is better suited for the low block than long range jump shots.....same with Dwight.......practically the only dudes who are catch and shoot players are Meeks and Jamison and they've only recently started finding their shooting touch

since a Nash centric offense can't work with this team we've gone to a Kobe centric offense in which he initiates the offense from a post isolation on the wing.......if he's doubled he kicks it out to Nash to restart the offense or he finds the open man.......if he's not doubled he goes to work and makes the defense pay......that why you've seen the spike in Kobe's assist numbers lately.......he playing more on the ball facilitator like LeBron.......only difference is that LeBron attacks from the top of the key on pick and rolls while Kobe attacks from the wing in a post iso

^Pretty much on point.

When Nash came back from the broken leg, he was the main ballhandler for awhile. They realized that he couldn't put enough pressure on the defense and that he's the best spotup shooter on the team. Now he still pushes the ball upcourt but in the halfcourt, Kobe is the one making the plays while Nash gets open for a shot.

He's pretty much dead on when open.

The lakers team is not built for a nash type of offense, we don't have the consistent shooters, and nash has been turning over the ball way too much.

HEs definitely gotten slower (if thats posssible) and hes turnover prone way too much in traffic now....i still love watching him cough the ball up and randomly fall over, its still the funniest thing in sports to watch...

The Lakers don't run an uptempo offense and they took the ball out of his hands.
