For the women who date outside their race, how do you handle/check your partner for using blaccent?
I made the mistake of asking this question in general and now I have non-black people telling me I’m overreacting for being offended so now I’m here. Have you ever dealt with this and if so, how did you handle it?
My boyfriend is a 37 YO white man and I’m a 25 YO black woman. I sometimes catch him using blaccent and it takes everything in me not to go crazy on him. He’s a very intelligent and well spoken man, no accent, he speaks with proper English vocabulary. Earlier we were chatting on TikTok and I sent him a video that his algorithm had just showed him and he typed to me “I swear the algorithm be doin research n shyt…” I called him out for it because he randomly does it often but this time just annoyed me & I think that if he was dating a white women he wouldn’t be faking an accent. He claims it was voice dictate and I called him a liar because voice dictate would never type that way and he told me that I was judging him and causing him to have a panic attack.
