I see the narrative that they’re no black men available is still being spread.

Black women are truly on their own in this country. It’s bad enough that from high school through college you look around and see few marriage prospects for you and your peers. You enter a workforce where there are even fewer black men. You have to learn to do it all on your own and do not anticipate a black man to save you. Black men are more likely to be plagued by health problems and job loss so you are going to have to take care of everything when the bottom falls out. Just like the women in older generations did.
Few prospects, huh.

St Phillips is 59% female, 41 male
NCA&T 59% female, 41% male.
Florida A&M is 66% female, 34% male.
Howard U is 72% female, 28% male.
The stats are similar at other HBCUs.
I doubt all those men are married. What happens to these men after they graduate?
They don’t get jobs in corporate America? Did all of them die, become gay, or go to jail?
