What happens if you don't show up to jury duty?

I heard in some cities they will put a block on your ID/driver's license so you can't renew it until you meet with a judge. IDK if this is true or not.

Had a lawyer tell me though that they can't prove that you received the letter. Anything could of happened to it, like someone stole it, it was lost, destroyed etc.

i showed up an hour late for mine. they had like 200 people stuffed into a tiny room for an orientation. i told em i didn't feel like being there & they let me go. its not that serious

Jury duty isn't that serious, me and several black people I know have skipped it. Many people skip it, so there's no reason to fear the white man in this situation.

And then we complain that we're not judged by our own people when we stand trial.

Why not just go? I had it once, went ... didn't even see a case because they settled out of court on the day of, and basically had a free day off of work.

I suggest you go, chances are the defended is black and the only thing that can save him/her from an all white juror is you.
Nothing stings worse than when the verdict comes in reading guilty, guilty, guilty,guilty...than that lone brotha they put on the juror says not guilty and walks out sippin his free coffee that was paid for by the courts.

at orientation you should have told them you have a bias against police officers. i also had a buddy who showed up in a bob marley t shirt. they asked him if he smoked weed...he said yes. they told him he could go
