Basically
I mean for the 5 mins of pleasure you get it’s fine.
After that
There’s more than them than us, they’re in higher position in the western world etc. I’d rather celebrate a brother getting a CEO job, degree, etc. than KOing some frail drunk/drugged racist woman.
But yeah, cac and all that
Like I said. These are small victories.
Why do we obey the law? Why do we listen to the police? Why do we listen to our parents? It's not because we're nice people it's because we know that there are consequences for not listening. Society is held together by laws and those laws are enforced. How? What compells us to obey?
Violence or the loss of liberty.
Your parents will beat your ass or take away your free time. Police will whoop your ass, threaten you with death, or lock you up. People as a species have shown over and over and over again that we don't listen unless someone can FORCE us to.
Theres this peculiar and embarassing thought process that goes something like this: people are racist because they haven't been adequately educated and told why it's wrong to use slurs.
This thought process is wrong. Racists know they're racist. They have been told by all sorts of people in all sorts of ways that this behavior is wrong but they still persist. Why? Because there are no direct consequences. Police can't arrest you for calling someone a n.gger, and in most cases when the violence is obviously racially motivated, the courts are soft on the perpetrators. We celebrate because this is a person realizing that their actions have consequences and is learning that not everyone will tolerate that behavior.
We march and write lengthy articles and books about racism as if the dominant group is not well aware of the ways they benefit from keeping us down. There's this fantasy that we can convince white people to not be racist. Thats a fantasy and a waste of everyone's time.
We rejoice when we see a racist getting exposed and losing their jobs, we rejoice when we see racists getting physically handled after expressing racial vitriol. We are a people who are not used to justice, so we rejoice whenever we can find it. This is why those who seek to minimize how important a video like this are looked at with suspicion. This is why dude gets negged. This whole "we need to be nonviolent" narrative is not working. Financial consequences are effective. Physical responses are effective. Argumentation and debate or asking law enforcement for help are both pie in the sky ideas at this point. We're past that at this point because it does not work.
