Guess what …
Even Tyler Perry and Tubi movies can be better with better writing. Ultimatly if quality is written by everyone then quality will be shown.
Also guess what … better work conditions can produce better results …
Ideal but still possible
I think you are over simplifying it still but I agree, ideal working conditions should lead to better work product.
but again these people don't control what makes it to the streaming services/TV. the people who make those decisions care about what will draw views, not quality of the show/movie. it's why half of netflix is reality shows now and the shows that are decent end up getting cancelled without even having a proper end.
I'm pretty sure most Tubi content is independent and non union tho.
not tryna be on some "well actually

" shyt but I do think some of this shyt gets conflated. I saw people shytting on the writers union and blaming them for show quality, and no doubt some shows are trashly written. there probably should be less writing jobs in hollywood, but the reason why there are so many and so many mediocre writers getting work is the studios are greenlighting shyt and treating it like content farms.
trash or not these people should be paid for the labor, and if it's trash the main person responsible for putting it in front of you is a producer/executive and they're the main people who should catch fire for poor quality movies/shows in my opinion.
it can be extended to the music industry too with what is popular/what gets a release on major labels, no union there tho.
