you may not believe me when I say it....

but you will and won't truly know who you or anyone else close to you are until you have it.

Truth. You never quite know who you are and who everyone is around you until you go through rough times.

In many cases, the worst time in your life turns out to be the best time in your life because its a turning point from which immense growth comes from. I heard TD Jakes refer to it as the "Sling Shot Period." Sometimes you have to get pulled really far back during a rough period. Sometimes it can feel like you're about to burst when that sling is pulling back. But when that sling shot lets go, you further then you would've ever imagined.

Peace

Never in my life did I think that it would come to that. You grow up to think that your parents will ALWAYS be there, regardless. Even the smallest, mundane things can set me off and I'm not an emotional dude at all.

The last 4 years to present.. It's getting better... long story but pretty much lost everything not just me but my family. Starting over from scratch when you're close to your 30's aint the move.. but that's life. I'm way smarter now and business- savvy. Wish I could go into details... I will when it's over

My life has been hard since I graduated college in 08……

There's been moments where things have been good…..but like BIG said it's an everyday struggle just trying to make something of myself, pretty much just running my own business, the ups and the downs. Honestly the last time I was truly happy was 07. That's the last time I felt like everything was going well money wise, career wise, socially.

But yeah 2009 was the worst year easily. Didn't get a lot of work, kept getting pulled over (at least 40 times), had to fight a few cops, was heartbroken by this chick…just rough.

I'll keep this short but

January 2011- Me, my sister, brother and mom got evicted for the second time in 2 years. I was at my homeboys house playing Xbox and I got a call from my mom saying she was evicted. :wow: I got pissed at her because she wouldn't tell anybody about it and got mad when I told my aunt. I stayed over my aunt's house that night and the next day me and my mom got into a big fight. I ended up going back with her for a few days and we stayed in Delray Beach with her friend.

She started talking bullshyt about moving to Texas. The only reason I stayed with her was because of my friends so I sure wasn't going to start a new life over in Texas with her crazy ass so I told her I was sick of her and was moving back to New York with my dad.

She is the devil. I haven't seen her since she dropped me off at the airport. And I admit I still have nightmares where I go to visit her in Texas and she tries to kidnap me but I try not to let those get to me. :yeshrug: Two and a half years later on November 4, 2013 here I am. Happy with my stress-free life. :obama:

Note: This wasn't even half of the story brehs. Not even half of it. I could write a book about this whole situation. :whoa:

I haven't had any really hard times.
My struggles were probably just the average struggles of anyone who grew up poor. And I didn't go through anything too bad other than normal coming-of-age problems.

Some of you have dealt with some hard things...often back-to-back. I have to salute you for pushing through it.
