"Wha'gwan bredda/sistren? I man would like to Ar-dah some food but meen want not an ounce of fukkry with it, sight?"
:manny:
and we go from there.
Missing food items, late orders, incorrect pricing, tend to happen but I normally either pick up my food after the order and check on site before I leave 'cause my money ain't playing, so neither should you with my fukking food.
Attitude/behaviour on the other hand is a mixed bag, because it's like a requirement for atleast 1/3rd of the staff to be disgruntled in some way, shape or form and it gets taken out on the customer(s) with little impunity.
Had an instance of dealing with a teenage girl who did not want to be there, who shoved my change back at me after taking my order and went back to her chair and phone.
This was in Jamaica itself, but I wasn't having it.
Had to walk back the kitchen and tell them fools, I need my money back, meen want the food again if they going to be treating me like I begging.
Older lady came out and made a stink and told me to "Doh pass back", but I could see she was pretty upset that her daughter/granddaughter lost a customer 'cause all I heard was "Fiesty!" over and over again as I walked into the street and went up the road and got some of the most succulent Acki And Saltfish with a whole Breadnut and Sweet Potato to eat from a road vendor not too far.

I've only been inside a Jamaican restaurant a couple times. One was fine, normal ordering and pick up experience. The other time when I stopped by one for lunch it was mad disrespectful. The thing that kills me is when I walk in a restaurant and nobody greets me or says "hi if you can please wait, I'll be with you soon." Zero acknowledgement, zero sense that it was particularly busy either. Yet it took nearly 5 minutes to be greeted. And then when my food was ready the lady damn near threw the plate on the table lol. Needless to say I didn't go back.

BUT I did order on Grubhub which was a mistake. I've done it twice and each time my order was wrong. Always missing an item. You order a side dish and it's not gonna be in there. You order a drink and it's not gonna be in there. Needless to say I haven't touched a Jamaican spot (online or in person) in years due to this.

Also picked up a Postmates order at one in Harlem. The woman working there was beautiful but she was very standoffish toward me :sadbron:
