Live in denial all you want. Gta V is not even a top 3 gta game. The campaign was awful. Filled with terrible characters and some of the worst missions I've ever experienced in an open world game.
The world wasn't even that interesting.
Game was just more of the same but not even as good.
Other studios seem to have no problem creating big open world games in less time.
What are these "other" studios that you're talking about? Every open world game that I've played recently have all been garbage. Maybe Witcher 3 is the closest touching GTA V but their development cycle was the same as GTA's
Witcher 3 took 3 and half years to make. It was announced in 2013 and dropped in 2015. Gta V took 4 years to make.
Rockstar is 3 times the size of cd projekt red. A studio the size of rockstar shouldn't take this long to drop a game.
Rockstar hasn't announced a new game in 5 years. 5 years for a studio that is massive.
Gta V was a run of the mill open world game. It's living off its name and nothing more.
They're clearly coasting as a studio living off gta online profits.

Bully,warriors,manhunt etc. They were on fire at one point.
You can't sit there and tell me you wouldn't like to see them to release more games and do more than just gta.

In the same time since they announced gta v naughty dog released Uncharted 3,4 and the last of us. Probably hard at work on their next game and they only 1/3 of the staff.
No other studio would get a pass like this.
Either they've gotten lazy as fukk and just don't care anymore or theirs some serious internal problems in the company with benz gone.
I really am starting to think theirs some serious problems at the studio.All the guap they made off GTAV, their next game better be above average.
They have a huge staff and boat loads of cash. The earliest possible we could see a game from them is holidays 2017.

GTA V was ok at first but once you beat the game that was it, I liked the characters and the story of how Michael met Franklyn was good. Online becomes repetitive nonsense and there is no story dlc rockstar has become complacent and lazy overall with their work. The city design feels cardboard the cops have ridiculous superior aim which was bullshyt.
They should have implemented a clothing designer shop or something for the single player. Better jewelry and more customization to the guns. And a story dlc. I mean you got las Vegas and San Francisco they haven't even touched it's a waste. Plus the stock market should work 24/7

The worse has happened and the huge success of GTA 5 and its online has been a double edged sword for us gamers. Like others said they have gotten very lazy and are just caking off the online and retail sales of GTA 5. After GTA 4 was released R at least made other games after like the story DLC's, Midnight Club, Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. Now its been 4 years already and NO game whatsoever.
