Big difference between ps2 era and now breh. Plus they only have 2 or 3 studios now thats spread out on working on bigger games
You're right. Games are bigger and have more money put into them than ever and they turn out worse than their predecessors :ehh:

Well to be fair, thats an opinion. You can pretty much say that about almost sequel to a game in recent years. Its usually hard to top a game that in most people eyes, is outstanding. & thats not me taking up for rockstar because they have fell off just a little.. ps2 era wasnt as restricted & had more creative control without being as expensive as games being made today so they could take that risk.

The production cycle for open world games is only getting longer and longer. I presume they have a new Red Dead on the way though.

people here fail to realize that Rockstar has been going through a huge change as a company since GTA V dropped...

1. Leslie Benzies got fired (responsible for making things work since the early GTA days. without him there would have been delays to RDR aswell as numerous other games due to shyt not working properly until he fixed it)

2. Numerous other devs (whose names I cant rememebr for some reason) were fired for being loyal to Leslie Benzies. including a number of Majorly important and influential senior staff from the 2D/3D era of GTA. (also documented in Benzies lawsuit papers)

3. Last year they had a large job posting with numerous positions open ranging from lead graphics developer all the way to management positions... even now, some key positions have yet to be filled. such as Enviromental Artists, Senior Graphics Programmer, Procedural Animation programmer, Pre Visualisation Artist, Mission Scripter, numerous Animation related positions including Animator itself.

at this point, I think Rockstar Leeds is the only stable studio in the whole of Rockstar. Leeds is a porting studio that did a number of mobile/PSP games including the GTA Stories series and GTA CTW. Rockstar San Diego has been in a downward spiral since its studio was in the news for having really shyt working conditions. I mean seriously, just read through the reviews... shyts garbage :martin:

I honestly have no faith in Rockstar anymore. not after the houser brothers literally cleaned house. All they have now is new untested talent, while key positions arent even being filled.

even they Costumer Service team is all fukked up

Liberty City was going to be added to GTA V. this is fact, a legitimate artist on Rockstar had some pictures of LC in GTA V's engine on his portfolio for some stupid reason. which im pretty sure got him fired...

heres an IGN report about it with some of the pictures still on there

this is a comparison done of one of the pictures in the portfolio and the same location in GTA IV

if I remember correctly, the original date of upload for the picture was dated at being around November 2015. which makes me think it got axed cus of the whole benzies situation :manny:

A deeper hole? :mjlol:

Live in denial all you want. Gta V is not even a top 3 gta game. The campaign was awful. Filled with terrible characters and some of the worst missions I've ever experienced in an open world game.

The world wasn't even that interesting.

Game was just more of the same but not even as good.

Other studios seem to have no problem creating big open world games in less time.
yup in terms of single player campaign it was the weakest yet... in terms of size, engine, graphics and fukkery it was dope

I remember when R* dropped a game almost every year GTA 3, Vice City, Manhunt. Then they had the odd games like the table tennis and Bully which was ahead of it 's time back then. They haven't been the same R* since GTAIV. What happenend to the DLC for GTA V they have foregone what made GTA great the characters and mission in pursuit of the microtransactions. Maybe it's Take-two fault for the push to nickle and dime the players for everything much like they did to NBA2K.

Can you Elaborate what was horrible about it?! :patrice:

The three main characters thing didn't work. The story was about Michael....Trevor and Franklin were just side characters that should have been NPC's. I didn't like trevor and Franklin was just really under developed.

The game world was huge but it felt non interactive and there really wasn't anything interesting outside of LS. It was just one big superficial map.

Parts of the game were clearly unfinished. The subway system in LS is a clear example of this. Also the businesses you could buy were horrible, one of the most flawed parts of the game for me. Pointless addition. Boring/repetitive/non engaging side quests that offer no reward what so ever. Clearly added on at the last minute.

It also felt really restricted for a GTA game. The wardrobe system was HORRIBLE. It didn't give you the freedom to mix and match like SA. For example if you chose a certain pair of jeans the game would automatically change your footwear. Also how on earth do we have such a big map but can't have safe houses outside of LS (bar Trevor of course) but I think for such a huge and diverse map we should have been able to purchase property in the desert/along the coast/the town at the top of the map etc. really strange that we couldn't.

The new police/wanted system was ok but the police were too aggressive to the point where rampages weren't fun anymore.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
shyt was sweeping awards, breaking records and getting the strongest ratings but TheColi says GTA V was disappointing, underwhelming :mjlol:

Guys want Red Dead 2.. why? With the way the game ended theres no need for a part 2.

They were pumping out games because they had their multiple studios working on different shyt.. the fact that no game has dropped since 13 (it was 5 years between IV and V which means 6 may drop in 18) should let you know that they may be working on something huge
macklemore won a grammy breh.... nobody putting faith in any damn awards

it wasn't even the best gta ever... so yea... if you advancing in sequels and regressing in fun and excitement... i'd say it underwelmed... it's not a damn 2... not even a 5... but maybe a 7 or 8

we need our gta's to be solid 10s....

and you still wrong cause between 4 and 5 there were 2 dlc expansions... but instead they dropping shyt for online to make money... that's the main gripe... where's the content for the most important part of every gta.... the damn story mode

Pretty sure red dead 2 was announced and was pushed to 2017 like all the other games to make way for PS4 NEO.
