Not only that but the fact that he had been texting and getting courted by those guys all season, it seems to me his mind was already made up and there was no way in hell that didn't influence his play at least subconciously. The rings mean significantly less than they would elsewhere, how people pretend to miss that point is beyond me especially after Durant himself admitted he went ring chasing for validation and still couldn't fill that void
You think he woulda been that conflicted had he won a title in OKC (which contrary to popular belief, was very possible) or somewhere else other than GS? I don't think so. Acting like this perspective is only reserved for haters and trolls is GSW stans in denial of what KD himself been bytching and moaning about since he got there. That being said, none of that is going to negate him being one of the greats.
It's all about perspective and the perspective on KD is always gonna be that he took the easy way out only to get called a wave riding ass nikka by his own GM at a shampionship celebration.
Watching that series as a Warriors fan I can say this...OKC was ON OUR ASS and it looked like they wanted to beat us by 40 in every game. I never once got the idea that KD was going anything less than 100. But their shots stopped falling like crazy, Russ started to try and save them at every turn and KD kind of just let him (which was what he always did so it wasn't weird) and then Klay took their souls in game 6 and that was that.
I think what happems ON the court is more important than what happens OFF but we live in the social media era so
