What if Edge wasn't forced into retirement?

Would the WWE be in a better situation right now when it comes to booking and having a charismatic top face to fall back on?

Cena's a top guy but the fans are tired of his image.
Bryan's injured.
Sheamus is a bit goofy.
Dolph's not ready.
Punk's gone.
Orton's a better heel.
Jericho, Rock, and Taker are part-time.
Ambrose & Reigns are still being build.

If Edge had been around this whole time, could it have kept things a bit more fresh and helped some of these newer guys come up? :ld:

yea bro. A guy in the business for 15 years with as many reigns as cena is gonna keep things fresh :dead:

If all these old nikkas left no one would care the top would look like

Kenta, Generico, Devitt, DB, Ryder, Shield, Steen, dolph, Orton, and Sheamus.

that > what we got.

I'm just thinking that the higher-ups would be more willing to have Edge as a top guy that puts the lesser guys over than they would with Cena, essentially the way a HHH would have worked when Rock & Austin were the focus. You see how going over Orton helped D-Bry ascend on his way to going over Cena.

Instead of recycling feuds like Orton, Jericho and even RVD, is it be far-fetched to think that a guy like Edge wouldn't have been an entertaining face to help the up-and-coming heels like Bray Wyatt, Rollins, and Cesaro find their chops during mic confrontations and telling a story. I think Edge could've helped with the spacing without people being in an uproar when he puts someone over the way they would have if Punk was around.

I think Edge could've kept things interesting and helped some guys stay afloat.

How old is Edge?

40.

Cena's 37.
Jericho's 43.

Of course things would be better

Edge was a great working in the ring and an established character out of it and work a better than average heel or face roll. AT WORST he would be a good character for Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns, Bray and Barrett to feud with. It'd make them all look a lot stronger than a feud with Cena.

Christian getting that WHC run while Punk was ascending into greatness > Edge post injury return.

Clap-happy Christian was meh.... :beli:

...though, to be honest, I was never really moved by him as a singles competitor so I'm probably biased. I think I missed a lot of the great solo things that warmed people up to him.

I put him in the same category I put post-Eddy Chavo in: "tribute character."
