I think part of it is dealing with the stigma of slavery. Afroasiatic people were never really slaves to Whites like that (Arabs is a different story but Muslims like to keep it buddy buddy with them). Seeing powerful Black nations like Ethiopia, Ancient Egypt, Kush etc. People wanted to gravitate towards that, when in reality West Africa (where our ancestors are mostly from) had just as many powerful kingdoms and advents to humanity. They just were subjugated by colonizers or worse, acted with colonizers. But ever nation in the world has taken Ls and been subjugated before. I do believe that some West African linguistic parallels can be explained with the theory of ancient Egyptians traveling South and West tho but again that was thousands of years ago. The direct ancestors of almost everybody with Black heritage in the Western hemisphere are West and Central Africans, but its just cooler to claim Ancient Egypt than say the Congo or Mali. I got into some back and forths over this exact thing on FB when ppl ran with the negus theory. Our ancestors probably had no knowledge of what was going on on the other side of the continent. The whole theory behind why Africa was so far behind technologically explained in guns, germs and steel is that knowledge was not spreading vertically on the continent the way it traveled horizontally in europe and asia. that includes culture to me

I know about the NGE from rap lyrics and from later reading books about it.I know more about the NOI.
I see the asiatic Black man stuff as a pep rally talking point . Delude people from their history and allow them to attach to something that they see as powerful. Moorish stuff is along the same lines.
