do you hear yourself?

who said theres anything wrong with how a persons grandparents spoke? no one becomes magically endowed with how to speak a language in a certain way, it's takes learning from others and practice.

you've completely lost the plot.
What are you talking about nikka?

Everybody knows you nikkas purposely drop the accent everyone you’ve ever known spoke to act like us

Cut it out

Your grandparents and parents hated that you did that shyt because they want to preserve their culture

Not assimilate into cracker culture in black face like the rest of us

Tighten up

They shouldn’t, that’s the point.

There is nothing wrong with how your grandparents spoke

It’s beautiful

Keep doing it
Serious question, if two southern black Americans moved to Ireland and had a child there, do you think the child would speak with an Irish accent or no?

Ireland isn’t America

If that happened in Ireland it would be more understandable because the cultural options are limited

In America, you can be whatever you want, the options are limitless

nikkas chose to leave their loving school teaching mother’s home in the good neighborhood to go sell crack with the nikkas on Fulton.

I think this one is more situational.

Some black immigrants are obviously faking it, but the difference with nonblacks and black people is that complete cultural integration is possible for the black immigrant. For example, Lots of jamaicans in new york have 100% integrated and mixed culturally to the extent that AAVe is natural to them. Same could be said for Brits like 21savage or africans like Wale who were immediatley transplanted in the hood as children. Same could be said for the ocean of Belizians who founded them selves in south central in the 80s and 90s.
It’s wild. My parents and their families found themselves in South Central in the early 80’s. They all still have their thick accents and decided to go home.
:pachaha:
What made other cultures want to integrate into Black culture so bad? Were they envious or doing it to protect themselves from being called “African booty scratchers”
:ohhh:
I know the first time I was called ABS it burned my soul.

They'd probably be able to do both. But more than likely they'd have an Irish accent because how they learned the language would be from Irish people. And their peer group would be Irish people.
It's like that one korean stand-up comic with a THICK Texas accent. Your home is only a part of your environment.

the people you talking about get called yankees and you're of the belief that immigrant families want their children to sound like foreigners in the country their children or grandchildren are citizens of.
