Exactly. I mean every black person know what that means. We all had at least one family member that had one of these types of pictures in their crib :heh:

:russ:Yea, black love is one of those undefinable, unquantifiable things that you will literally have to ask
every black person what they is. It isn't as simple as a checklist, but we all feel some sort of way about it.

It's a cultural thing breh, you can see it in some of the things that were brought up in the video. You got dudes on there talking about police brutality and how we need to separate from cacs. Our love and strength comes partly from our struggle.

I've romanticized it a bit obviously, but I think you get my point.

I see, but think a lot of the abandonment and toxic relationships comes from our struggle as well.

That's just love, I'm afraid.
You're right, I don't think the feeling of love within a relationship is different from race to race.

When I think of "black love" I think more on a bigger scale like the way we love each other as black people...not just immediate family or friends but any and all black people.

My moms had this in the basement. When I got old enough to understand it I was disgusted. But black folks of that generation always had art supporting black love

THREE-OH-FIVE TILL I DIE
I was so mad at Florida Evans when she wanted them to take that down
That episode alone qualifies Florida Evans as one of the worst TV mothers of all time.

Michael even cracked open the bible that described Jesus as that very same picture that JJ painted.

Florida said some shyt like, "Well, the Jesus I know is white. The Jesus that's pictured in my church is white. That's all I know and bla bla bla."

I remember sitting there like :dahell:

:heh:One of the funniest episodes ever. Thing is, her preference for the white jesus wasn't her fault. That is the image that was portrayed.
Religious indoctrination always requires showing an image over and over till one accepts, so naturally, her Jesus is a pretty white man.
Not that I ascribe wholly to the idea of a jet-black Jesus, but most cultures "augment" the religions they follow to better suit how they feel about it.
Florida just never had a household that made it a point to say Jesus could not have been a long haired, fair-skinned white man.

So for all the good she stood for over her kids lives, her familiarity with the Jesus that is popularly portrayed makes
her a horrible mother?:dahell:

In my eyes, yes.
Up to that point, the rest of her family was on board with the idea of rejecting the idolization of a fictional white character.
Proof was presented to her from the very book she "studied" and constantly read and quoted. And she STILL forced Black Jesus down from the wall because the family was experiencing TOO much good fortune.

Black Jesus came down.
Cac Jesus was put back up.
And it was business as usual in the Evans household.

And calm down, my brotha.
This is all just my humble opinion.
