Assuming the age of the hypothetical parent is 35 - 60 during your teens... pretty much the same as growing up with a black parent if your gonna keep it 100

Nah I had both my parents. Most of my black friends didn't. We gave a lot of rides to and from practices and other school functions because some parents were working.:manny:

Thats your experience breh... Im black had both my parents and grew up in a largely white community where we gave rides and had my homies over for sleepovers all the time.

shyt I used to hate as a kid, I'm grateful for now.

busting my ass about school, pushing me out of the house to get a job, forcing me to try different shyt, always holding me accountable, etc....

Raised by my pops as a single father.

Was dope, blurred the line of friend and father, but I didn't taken advantage. He blessed me with a heavy amount of common sense. I always knew to handle my shyt and never fukked around really, mostly out of respect for him.

He let me grow as an individual as well, respected my space and never got up in my shyt because he always knew I was doing what I was expected.
