Me and @mastermind were having a convo about Otto Porter who we both believe should be Player Of The Year and somehow it led into us talking about McAdoo.

I feel like the kid will have a spot on someone's team becuz he's athletic and becuz of his name. Mastermind, on the other hand, thinks the kid is just an athlete who can "run and jump" and he has no skill at all. I figure that if Reggie Evans can keep a job this long as just a rebounder then McAdoo should be able to have a job.

McAdoo is a tweener. He is quick for a PF, I guess. He has an ok short range jumper. He is a solid athlete.
Overall though, he sucks...

As far as Porter, he's been very impressive lately. I'm still worried about him as an NBA prospect because that Princeton offense hides players within itself. Certain strengths/weakness are always tough to scout. Passing/playmaking ability in particular is hard to gauge.

EDIT: I realize that you probably were referring to both player's games as they apply to college basketball but to me the most interesting part of watching college ball is "scouting" guys for the draft. That's why my breakdown was in that manner.

never said that. I said Victor Oladipo, but Porter should be in the convo.

Still think he gets drafted top 15 even though he's hella soft. He's still got the ideal frame for a PF in the league.
He is a tweener.

And worst of all, he doesnt like playing with his back to the basket.

If he had a decent perimeter game I would say he could be a stretch 4, but he doesnt.

HE'S AN OAF WITH OVERRATED ATHLETICISM (HE'S AN AMIR JOHNSON LEVEL ATHLETE IN THE LEAGUE) WITH NO FACE UP GAME, NO BACK TO THE BASKET GAME...

HE'S BASICALLY A MORE ATHLETIC TYLER HANSBOROUGH AT THIS POIN...BUT IN THIS DRAFT..I WOULD TAKE HIM TOP 10 :yeshrug:

He's Brandan Wright the sequel.
Marvin Williams if he stayed his sophomore year.

and @TheNig, most of the non superstar players do one thing really well. Be it scoring, shooting, rebounding, defending, setting up an offense, being 7 feet tall, etc. Thats how they are still in the league. Thats why Reggie Evans is still in the league, dude is a beast rebounder and its something a team needs. James Michael McAdoo does nothing at the level that Reggie Evans can rebound. If he can specialize in something, then he will survive. Since he cant, I am not convinced.
