I see alot of yall say how good he is but everytime he drops a song I always end up forgetting about it along the way. the pay for it song with kendrick was even in a commercial and after that nothing...he kills it on the guest verses but im starting to think he just might not have that crossover appeal

He's missing a recent album. plus not everyone is meant to blow up. I didn't think Kendrick was going to blow like he did but I did think he'd be the star of the group commercially. Jay Rock is like MC Ren, he's a mean spitter, makes dope songs, great guest verses and can even sell some records in the right climate but he's not a star but not everyone needs to be.

The inspectah Deck of TDE :wow:
Nah breh...I'm certain Deck would've been bigger than he is if it wasn't for that flood that destroyed his original debut album.

I worked with him personally and his personality is like his name, that nikka is a rock. He just ain't gonna be moved, not on some arrogant/cocky shyt, he just knows who he is and won't deviate from it. He isn't ever gonna chase a radio single, and Top Dawg allows him to be who he is because he already fulfilled his purpose pretty much for the label, which was the guinea pig for the label going mainstream (Top Dawgs words). Simply put, he's one of the few real nikkas who ain't supposed to be mainstream...

It's probably better for his career long-term to be himself, than to try to blow up and alienate people. Ab-soul rapping on trap beats was enough for me to never check for him again
