Excuse me.. Last year is in the past and as you can tell the read option is not effective like it used to be witch takes half of kaeps game out. He is not a pocket passer.. He has shown this time and time again this year. When he needs to stay in the pocket and make a pass it doesn't work.

Notice last year when he was successful throwing the football it was because the read option was successful. Now that he has to throw the football as his first option, it isn't is forte. Didn't you watch his games at Nevada? He was a run first QB. Take away part of his game and watch the consequences.

Didn't use the read option against the Packers this year. Didn't use it last year before the playoffs. Just admit that you don't watch the games and we can move past this retarded post.

Lol Kaep only played the packers one time last year and it was in the playoffs. It worked effectively.. the next year the packers planned for it and yes they did try it a few a times Kaep got lit up because clay mathews instead of coming in at an angle he went straight in so Kaep pulled it away from gore and Clay read the play and blew up Kaep.. You only watch the parts of the games that mean the most to you.. You don't actually watch the whole game.

It's easy to tell who never watched the games.

FOH, we are talking about right now and future not what he did last season. He is an option QB and there was no NFL game tape on him so he murdered shyt last year. Now fast forward to a new season after an offseason of watching tape and look at what is happening. Smith ain't no HOFer but what if Kaep keeps this shyt up, would be nice to have a QB who has won a ton of games for you sitting in that backup role wouldn't it? You don't trade a guy who took you to the NFC championship a year before for an unproven rookie who goes on a nice little run.

That's how I know you don't watch the games. Read option was used sparingly leading up to the playoffs. Kaep was a pocket passer for much of that time. He beat the Packers in two different ways. Last year it was the read option. This year it was as a pocket passer.

I have watched every single 9er game since they started showing them on sunday ticket up here. That's about 9 years. Stop talking. 9ers did not always use the read option you clown. That's a fact.

Week 1, he was under center. There was no read option. I think they used it once or twice to sike out the pakers. Dude was throwing from the pocket with reckless abandon. Is 2 weeks ago too far in the past for you?

Allex Smith threw for 17 Touchdowns in 2011. He was carried by his record setting defense, record setting kicking game and a top running game. He didn't get anywhere. Kaep eclipsed that the next season by getting us a few inches from a Super Bowl. Smith is just as "unnproven" as Kaep. He's a limited QB that tricked you into thinking he's a superstar.

9ers fans gonna be screaming for Alex Smith by week six. That was one of the most bonehead knee jerk reactions EVER made in sports.

This is a pretty ironic comment given the theme of the thread, which is essentially a knee jerk reaction of a QB's worth, conveniently asked after a couple of mediocre games in a row: the same QB who took his team to the superbowl in what was essentially his rookie year, replacing a career underachiever.

Yes. He was off on throws. He hasn't been poised at all. Maybe the coaching staff is asking him to do too much. Give him some easy reads and run the fukking ball. All this shyt at the line and allowing him to audible needs to be cut out for now.
the throws he missed are matter of execution. you either make them or dont
my point is kaep been part of the problem last two games...he is not exempt from offensive woes

This is so reactionary. Who is Kap throwing the ball to, he didn't have his #1 receiver, his #1 TE and lost a very solid option in the offseason.

I would give Kap a 16 milly a year contract for the next 6 years. He is just now struggling. Dude is a franchise QB, we gotta give him weapons to throw to, either through trade or signings.

About WR's not being open, that's true for the most part, but he is also looking shook as hell after his 1st read.

He's gunning 4 yard dumpoff passes and he isn't throwing anyone open either. I think the most disappointing this is his lack of pocket presense, he's running into sacks and just not playing even keel at all
