Not a fan of of either system.... Here's my opinion......
VR has been pushed by companies since the 90s, and every company that has produced a VR capable machine has had dismal results! EVERY SINGLE ONE! Sony could be different a and break the mold, we shall see.
I think the market may be ready for more expensive consoles now, provided that the unit isn't a well-crafted piece of shyt and the features of the unit can be justified. I mean, people are paying damn near $1000 for cell phones now.... every 1-2 years. It will be up to the companies to prove the utility of these console.
I like what Microsoft is doing with this Scorpio project, but Microsoft doesn't have the first party catalog of games(that I like and want to play) that would showcase and express the system's ablities. That distinction belongs to Sony, so I agree with posters who have stated that Sony is in danger of falling back behind and losing market share (in the US especially) like it did last generation. Those first party titles are apart of the separation in regards to system quality, Sony, IMO, should scrap the VR project and develop a comprehensive 4K system.
I have not purchased a console for this generation, and after the announcement of 4k systems on the horizon, it looks like I'm skipping this generation entirely.
