I'm disappointed Tariq has sock puppet fan accounts on this site...so I wouldn't go by what I see on here.
Anyway, as a long-time follower, people with those slanders (usually other black people) view Tariq as an illegitimate voice and thus anyone who would listen to him as lacking somehow.
Black people who are educated or professional (or even semi so) are often keen on authoritativeness and legitimacy for two reasons: They are part of the liberal class and tend to adopt what they believe are rational scientific positions like their white counterparts (dislike of anti-vaxxers, climate change deniers, conspiracies...) but their white counterparts are not as susceptible to being lumped in with their white ideological opponents because of skin color, so black liberals will often go out of their way by disparaging the backgrounds of blacks who think differently than them to show they are not the same. "Those hoteps" They'll say they do it out of "concern" for the community, but calling other black people broke and dusty would seem to go against the political worldview they believe in, or the people they are trying help.
It's flawed thinking anyway, many of the white shock jocks/conspiracy theorists and such have well to do, white followers.
Tariq has always had a core fanbase with enough disposable income to support his projects, more of a support base than many of these "respectable" black talking heads you see on mainstream TV who live off the tit of tokenism, charity, and white liberal breadcrumbs.
