With the new movie upcoming, I'm wondering if I should do a deep dive. I don't remember watching the older ones.

This is the supposed Chronological Order:

  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011)
  • Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
  • War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)
  • Planet of the Apes (1968)
  • Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)
  • Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)
  • Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)
  • Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)

I don't remember the older ones... it's been forever since I seen one. The one from the 90's or whatever sucked.

As for the current trilogy..

'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' 7/10 Pretty good movie, set the table well enough... by the numbers action flick

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' 9/10 Excellent movie, more focus on the apes themselves, had a lot to say in the script "human work.." shyt was crazy

'War for the Planet of the Apes' 8.5/10 Very good, depressing and slower moving than the previous one.. take it down a notch, script was still crack.

Haven’t watched the older entries but the modern trilogy always struck me as an under-appreciated bunch. Reeves came through and crushed the buildings with his direction in Dawn and War but everything I’ve seen from Kingdom so far has me convinced it’ll be worth a watch too.

I don't like the newer ones. I just don't get the story they're trying to tell, so they come across as repetitive nonsense. Burton's looked great, but was very lacking. The originals are my favorite, and are great but only '68 OG, Escape and Conquest. Beneath was a cash grab and noticably so, and Battle is a TV show pilot.

Great movies actually imo. The older ones always seemed stupid and boring. But i was mostly skimming and not really watching as a kid,it was just on t.v. but i know nothing ever made me stop and pay attention. But the new ones they came out with are some of my favorites#KobaWasRight

I've only seen the Wahlberg one, which is trash. Though I bet I saw the more recent ones I'd probably like them, just never got around to it.
