What Is The Difference Between A Big Fan and a "Stan"?

In real life stans are basically overzealous fans, Beyonce stans is the most common example you'll see in the Black community.

stans was pretty bad, that wasn't exclusive to one race, some MJ fans killed themselves when he died

Being called a stan on the Coli is harmless, I doubt stans on here are harassing athletes and rappers on twitter and throwing CDs at them (Beyonce stans threw CDs at Keri Hilson). Stan wars on here is just trolling/messing around

To me a big fan can admit that their favorite artist made a song or album that is trash. I really doubt a stan would admit that.
