Age of Apocalypse is legendary
Onslaught the story got slammed when it came out..Onslaught was supposed to be the Galactus of the X world. They messed it up. He was unstoppable and it ended silly.
Fatal Attractions is legendary..Wolverine got his admantium ripped out, Cable got PUNKED THE fukk OUT, Colossus turned on the team, and Magneto as taken down for a minute.
X Cutioner's Song is underrated..people hate on it but Stryfe was on fire in this story. Had some great lines and ETHER for everyone.
God Loves, Man Kills is a great classic story everyone loves.
I, Magneto story by Claremont..unforgettable
The Savage Land story by Claremont with Rogue and Magneto's affair starting. How many writers have gone back to that? Nearly all of them.
The Acolytes intro story/Claremont's last story X Men Vol 2 #1-3...the one that sold 8 million copies. Legendary.

Yeah I knew you'd also come with heat.

I'd add to this list Inferno, Phalanx Covenant, X-tinction Agenda, Whedon's Astonishing Run, The whole Messiah Complex storyline (as much as I personally disliked it) that introduced Hope and anything Claremont wrote because really his entire run was one extended story.

Age of Apocalypse was when Sinister's real name finally came out...who the fukk "Essex"? That's Sinister? Then it all made sense. All of the damn Nathan characters he was connected to had his first name somehow..lol

Exactly, it just answered so many questions and linked things together that we never would have gotten had it not happened.

If you grew up reading X-Men comics like I did, then go back and read old Avengers comics, the Avengers books almost seem juvenile in comparison. The basic ass stories they told in Avengers, its no wonder X-Men overtook them in sales and popularity.

i'm not saying it wasn't huge or important to the grand scheme of things, i'm saying it was poorly written.

What about it was poorly written? I really need you to explain this, because in my entire lifetime of reading comics, I'm hard pressed to name even 3 crossovers better executed than the AoA.

Out of Age of Apocalypse, you had Holocaust on Avalon in that ice cube that Exodus thought was a ally but he destroyed Avalon, Killed Rusty Collins, Javitz, fought Exodus in a crazy battle that wrecked Avalon..that led to him crashing on earth on Sebastian Shaw's island where he was hiding at and he forced him to join him against X-Force.

Dark Beast crossed over and was behind the Morlocks second gen and was getting away with a ton of shyt. Kidnapping Havok, forcing Random to to be his errand boy, taking Beast's place in that fantastic X-Men Unlimited #10 story, etc.

Sugar Man was in control of Genosha after things got back to normal and he kept calling Cable Nate Grey...lol. Cable thought he killed him or something but Sinister put Cable to work like a errand boy in the aftermath to find Nate Grey...haha.

Nate Grey brought back Madelyn Pryor and he was close as fukk to dikking her down. Hilarious on at LEAST 4 levels.

All of that stuff led to Rogue and Magneto running into each other in X-Men Unlimited after he saved that nun and those kids in South America from the drug dealers. That story got pushed BIG during Onslaught. The little subplot of Gambit working for Sinister and refusing to tell Rogue like some kind of coward for several issues...lol. He even thought about pulling the plug on Betsy after she got fukked up by Sabretooth. Just hilarious shyt.

Wolverine had some great storylines by himself...

*When Wolverine got his metal skeleton ripped out by Magneto
*When Cyber got adamantium tipped claws and fukked Logan's world up
*When Wolverine killed Sabretooth (or he thought he killed him, I still got that comic and it was depressing as fukk)
*When Wolverine had his bone claws broken by Cyber

Rise of Apocalypse is a good mini series too...

When Rachel Summers first debuted, she was a deep character. Raised to hunt mutants like animals....

When Rogue left Gambit to die in the Artic in Uncanny #350..I laughed in my best friend's car so hard. It was just so funny to me. I loved it.

Clone thor and captain america being killed by LOW level motherfukkers alone puts civil war below AoA. Low key, especially including the writing delay of civil war, i enjoyed SECRET INVASION more than civil war

None of those deaths stuck and if you talking deaths, main characters were dying all over the place in AoA, especially in X-Men Omega.

Civil War was a great premise but HORRIBLE execution and the ending was a cop out. The only thing I'll give it credit for is that it DID change the status quo for Marvel temporarily
