Now at times I would dress "preppy" rocking Polos with Khakis and shyt like that just because I wanted to be versatile with both Urban shyt and Preppy shyt. But what you describe is something deeper. I don't get the self hating part. I love being black.

i started dressing like that when i noticed it resulted in less police harassment (and better treatment as a customer). not exactly preppy more like business casual though. plus the style of "urban" clothing had become ridiculous anyways, so it was time to switch it up.

the other self hating thing i did was when i was like three or four years old. i don't remember, but my mother told me she caught me in the bathroom trying to scrub the black off. i went to an almost all white kindergarden and she told me i said the other kids had refused to play with me because i was black. the instersting thing about that is that scientific studies found out that children at that age don't notice differences in skin colour, so it must have been one of the parents who told their kids not to play with me.

If you want to lighten your skin use AMBI. That shyt works. I got ChickenPox in high school so my scars were real bad. My Aunt gave me AMBI for my face to even out the scars. she didn't tell me is basically bleaching cream for black people. The shyt worked with my scars and also made my skin 2 shades lighter. It was fukked up cause my face was hella light but my neck and my arms were still dark. after about month of not using it everything evened out, but I was surprised how well it worked and even when I look at pictures from back then I can't help but to

When my hair was a little longer, I used to blow dry/perm it to make it straight like the white man's

I also started wearing American Eagle/Abercrombie when everyone else was wearing Roc-A-Wear
