So searching for John Starks Game 7 on youtube, I found this clip.

I don't remember this John Starks Dunk on Hakeem :leon:

Yo that might be the best dunk of his career, holy shyt. That is easily more impressive than "The Dunk".

We should probably split this thread into two threads, one for team chokes and another for player chokes. Portland's fourth quarter in game 6 of the 1992 finals is high on the list, OP also left out Karl Malone missed two free throws at the end of game 1 of the 1997 finals with the score tied at 82, air balls against the jazz, Shaq going 9-20 at the line in that same loss by just 4, Dirk missing every shot he took in the fourth quarter of game 6 in the 2006 finals, the lakers blowing a 23 point second half lead in game 4 of the 2008 finals, Oklahoma City blowing a 15 point fourth quarter lead in game 5 of the 2011 western conference finals, Chicago blowing a 77-65 lead in game 5 against Miami with under 4 minutes left in game 5 of the eastern conference finals in 2011. I don't think we can put that many options in a poll, can we?

Damn I forgot a lot of these...there has been a lot of wet pillows over the years hasn't there?

I voted Clippers losing that lead to the Rockets, but looking back these were all one game efforts. I think Kyle Lowry as a whole should be the Playoff WOAT Performance. :patrice:

Playoffs is where hearts get broken. shyt we didn't even mention the western conference finals last year, most notably game 6 and glossed over the fact that the rockets comeback over the clippers was a 3-1 rally too. Dallas was up 2-0 in 2006 with a 13 point lead with 6:30 left in game 3 in Miami. I think projections had then on a 99% chance to win the series at that point. They didn't even get to game 7. First blown 2-0 lead in the finals since 1977 when Portland came back from it against Philadelphia.

The only issue I have with what you are saying is that there are plenty of meltdowns but I went with the ones that had a mystique to them. Basically the Bill Buckners of The NBA

It's either LeBron in 2011 (those 4th quarters :snoop:) or the Warriors last season.

:ehh: 1992 was the bulls first successful repeat, 2000 (great example you gave) was the first title run for Shaq and Kobe and it nearly didn't happen, 2006 certified Wade forever and stamped the mavericks as chokers until 2011 when they had a top 5 clutch postseason ever in my opinion. Last year was the end for Russell and KD. Lot of these examples are fresh in the mind though so I guess we still have yet to see how they'll be looked at in 5-10 years.

It's going to be between that 3-1 Warriors loss and LeBron against the Mavs in the Finals because of the stakes of those particular games/series, but what Chris Paul and the Clippers did at the end of that game against the Thunder that would've put them up 3-1 was one step beyond shameful. And I lost mad money on that fukking bet. :umad:

Surprised Kobe airballing those threes against the Jazz or going 6-24 in Game 7 didn't make the poll.

I'm not sure how that can be considered. Shaq shooting 9-20 from the line is just what Shaq does/did his whole career, I don't know how we can classify it as choking.
