What if Tidal becomes a music store like iTunes on top of being a streaming platform? That enhances their exclusives, because people will go to Tidal to download/buy Beyonce's album, even if they wouldn't go just for the privilege of streaming it a week earlier than everyone. If Tidal can rake in those huge first week sales totals/profits, then they'll be profitable a lot quicker than most expect. Same goes for big singles.
jay bought tidal for $56 milli, 2 weeks later its now worth $250 milliand they still rolling it out worldwide
all the handwringing by the coli accountantsthat nikka would make a big profit if he sold it right now.

If it works like iTunes then you won't need to pay for a subscription in order to buy an album from Tidal. Doesn't Google Play work that way? So they'll be pulling in the people who like to own the music, not rent it. And if it's not available to stream for the first month, and only available on Tidal for the first week, then the numbers will be big for them. Windowing would be a huge way for them to make $.If you're going to stream - you won't be buying albums unless you want to show that extra support. And even then you might as well cop a CD / Vinyl because you'll already have a digital version of the songs available offline.
I'm not going to stream an album then buy the MP3 - that's silly.
People want to stream. That's why they do it. More people want to stream and it's growing year on year. Less paid downloads are happening, that's why everyone is moving into the space. These "Musicians", in Jay Z's case I use the term very loosely, need to change with the times. Long gone are the days that people would pay $20 for a CD that had maybe 2 good songs on it and the rest were #$%$. People listen to the streaming services and then, if they like the songs, they will buy it on iTunes. I will adamantly refuse to pay $9/month to listen, not own, songs from a select group of artists. I will stick to Pandora and Spotify. If I want to own the song I will then buy it, but outside of that, I will refuse to pay for the "privilege" of listening to their songs.

Everyone should boycott this fool. Do not let him make more money off of us. He is an embarrassment to the business

I give Tidal a year. It's way too complicated and with all the different pricing structures, people will look at it and move on. I've been with Spotify for three years and I see no reason to switch. Tidal promotes high-quality audio but that is irrelevant when people are listening to music on those little white headphones. Good luck, but I smell failure.
