Not our concept of time but time itself. The timeline of the universe. What is holding it? Why doesn't it skip to the end? Why does everything have to play out?

It always freaks me out thinking about time. Without time there would be nothing...everything would happen and end in one instant. So that must mean there is a progression, something it is headed towards...almost like if you're watching a youtube video and you see the bar at the bottom moving towards the end. Except, not even time knows the end...or does it? My brain itches :mjcry:

Thanks. I wasn't thinking about shyt like this, now you got me fukked up on a late saturday night.

This is worse than thinking about what it'd be like if the universe didn't exist.

let me break something down real quick

if you've taken calculus then you know that you can break a number in 1/2 an infinite amount of times

so if you take 1 second, you can break it down in 1/2 and then in 1/2 again and then in 1/2 again an infinite amount of times

so 1 second never actually passes, it's infinite

:wow:

passes blunt

You said "not our concept of time" and proceed to speak of time as being linear...

The universe runs on movement, cycles, energy.. But not a straight line like your describing.

How would it not "exist" is an equally valid question

The idea that time is anything more than a measurement is annoying. A second is the same concept as a meter, or a gallon, or a kilogram. They're all just measurements so there's no fabric to time....and of course you can divide it infinitely as you can a centimeter or any unit of measurement.
