He's basically the updated version of Snoop. Hugely popular and kind of transcending, yet recently, people only mess with his singles and not much more. Me personally, I don't think he sucks at all. You can't really place him with Cole or Kendrick lyrically, but he can rap when he wants and has made a lot of very good songs. Kush & OJ, Taylor Allderdice, and 28 Grams still get regular spin with me, and I've bumped Rude Awakening like crazy, and The Race, The Bluff, and The Plan are some of my favorite songs from him.

:stopitslime:

Just 'cause he's a weed head doesn't make him Snoop, especially not an updated version

Wiz has the privilege of being one of few rappers today on a major that supports them, and because of that, gets handed pre packaged hits from their tent camps

Even with the hit records, he's still not that big of a star

Snoop carried two undeniable classic albums, made like 2 - 3 other great albums

Was involved in some of the biggest moments hip hop has seen

Is the most transcendent star hip hop has seen

And has been doing it consistently for 25 years

Cut it out.

Wiz's current place in hip hop is dependent on how hot his last single is (Juicy J flabby status)
His place in hip hop is fragile because he destroyed the pillars he stood on by selling out.
He released probably the best mixtape ever made, Kush & OJ. But he has never been able to get back into that zone. It was a masterpiece of a mixtape - a near-perfect craft. The creativity, the art form, the vision behind it.. :ohlawd:

Sometimes he will give you glimmers of hope by appearing on a song with Currensy that makes you reminisce of Kush & OJ days . But that fantasy quickly fades away when you see Wiz go back to chasing money and releasing some bullshyt pop music :camby:

odd career, i cant believe hes still as big as he is. 'Trap Wiz' is a stumbling joke of a rapper, it seems like he avoids production that suits him on purpose. but he cranks out a hit every now and then so he maintains his position. his music has been awful for a long time

Snoop didnt follow trends as hard as he does, hes was more daring at that stage in his career. i cant put him in that category, Snoop may make some awful shyt himself but hes been a star his whole career, Wiz will fizzle out in another 3-4 imo

He drops a good song once in a while and tours of those plus his catalogue constantly. He still seems to be a "respected" weed ambassador too.

the falloff :francis::mjcry:

Wiz was that nikka back than. Crazy how he was 2nd to Drake at one point. Still has a huge fanbase but for some reason they don't buy his albums. He's still :eat: good off of tour money and merch.
