I hear that there are no longer cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto that was the only reason I played. People would come over & steal the cheat codes too took forever to print them out

Most just don't find it interesting. More women game now than ever, but it's still not something that your average girl finds entertaining.
My girl doesn't play but depending on what I'm playing that night, she loves watching.
She's a wimp but enjoys horror for some reason, so play anything scary after sundown and she's there.
We played Alien: Isolation the other night.

I think @MarsPunka games on occasion.
Only female off the top that I can recall seeing in The Arcadium, but there are a few more.

I love video games, but at least I'm not a try-hard female gamer who emphasizes the fact she's a female and likes video games and she's just like "the guys".

Your girl sounds like me. I like to watch. I'll play on my own saved game. I hate to lose so I'll play by myself til I'm used to the game and get good and then I might play with someone else.

There was this girl that liked me in college who was always annoyed whenever I played games. One night I'm playing some FPS on my roommates PS3 and she literally starts off:

Her: "So...what is so interesting about video games anyway "

Me: "It's fun to play, not that complicated "

Her: "So, do you imagine yourself actually killing people then "

*My roommates are cracking the fukk up in the background on some *

Me: "No...Its just entertainment to pass the time..do you want to try?"

Her: "No, I think grown men do away with toys like that "

Me: "So you think I'm a little boy now "

Her: "No, but I think you need to stop playing it and come get me something to eat"

Naturally, I told her after I finish the level, which never happened

I understand what you are saying,like how Espn is a niche market for sport s fans. the mistake is on my behalf. Alot of times, peolke put themselves in a box pertaining to certain genres of what they will and wont watch. Me, I practically will watch it, if I like it cool. If not, cool. (Remind me to never watch pluto nash btw lol)

I like the old school sci fi, and certain new school stuff as well though. When I have time, I usually just watch the history channel and sci fy type stuff.

What kind of nerdy stuff you watched growing up

The sci fi channel was the only channel that my dad watched when he was home. I grew up watching that, Star Trek, Firefly, Buffy, Battlestar: Galactica, X-files, Twilight Zone. Movies like Blade Runner, The Fly, Species, Tremors, Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, Gattica, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Monster Movies.

My grandparents also had a basement full of comic books.

Sci-Fi is popular. I just feel like it's got its own little community and fan base that makes it feel more intimate.

I had a friend who was like that with me...she always wanted to watch but never play when I was running some Dead Space or RE.

i personally couldnt be seriously involved with a woman if she wasn't sort of a gamer nerd that was into weird nerdy sci fi shyt or one that doesnt have atleast an appreciation for art and creativity (video games simply fall into that category if you're into those type of things)

This is basically my criteria for a serious relationship at this point.
