I'm curious because I don't think you ever have to give up as long as you have another reliable and steady source of income. If you don't have that steady income though, then it might be time to give it up and think of something else. What is your deadline? Mine is Jan. 1, 2018.

Side question: How close have you become/did you become to achieving your dream? Why did you stop?

I'd say if you don't have a solid following by 30 you should probably stop.

2 Chainz and Danny Brown popped off late, but had a solid following and were making noise locally in their 20s. Its just took them longer to make that jump.

I don't think anyone should put a deadline on a dream. Even if you're trying to make music.

As long as you're dope at what you do, keep pushing. If you quit, you'll always regret not going further.

If you're not at least gaining traction on the local level by 23 or 24, you need to drop it or fall back a little and focus your energy elsewhere so you can start planning for your financial future. It's cute and all to chase a dream but men have to provide and there's gonna be people counting on you for that when you're in your 20's
