If we make it past the next150 years there will be a utopia
Not necessarily, unless we take action to change the road we're on...
When it comes to how resources are distributed and goods are produced, the majority of those issues can be solved by getting rid of capitalism through the working class overthrowing it and establishing socialism. So, that's one.
I think the climate crisis is also caused, in large part, by capitalism and the chaos of its production and undemocratic decision-making. Hypothetically, maybe you could have a majority of people opt to throw their planet under the bus so they can live like kings under a "democratic" economic system, but I don't see that as very likely (puts them in danger, compromises their kid's future, etc.)... nonetheless, even assuming we reach socialism, an ecological ethos must take root again in human consciousness and in the structures of human societies.
I could say something like superstition, a lack of self-belief, etc., but I also think these things are fostered, wielded, and/or exacerbated by capitalism and capital, in the interests of the ruling class.
Since capital is all-pervading, getting rid of capitalism and establishing socialism would get us much further along the road to solving so much of what ails us today. :mannymarx:
