If they had an AutoBahn in America, it would have tons of bodies
But That video was
Probably, much better drivers over there.
I used to live over there many years (dad was in army) then went back as an adult, rented a Mercedes. The day I took the Autobahn it was raining and I was going a little over 100 MPH in the left lane for a little bit, cars were going much faster and I went over to the right and stayed there.
Some differences:
I think cars are much better overall.
The autobahn is much smoother.
It's much harder to get a license over there. "The German driving licence can be obtained after finishing
driving school and passing both a theory and a practical examination. In order to apply for a driving license, it is necessary to show proof of an eye exam as well as a first aid course consisting of 9 units of each 45 minutes"
I think you have to be 18 to drive unsupervised.
Drivers are better. Everybody knows slow drivers should move over to the right, they actually do it over there. The day I drove there was an accident ahead and everybody was kind of swerving to the left and right to notify people behind.
Not sure if this has any impact but a teacher told me it's a bit different in regards to alcohol and driving. She said in the states you learn how to drive (15/16 years old) before you learn how to drink (21 legal age, even tho most start earlier). In Europe you learn how to handle your liquor (can drink in high school/earlier) before you learn to drive (18). I'm guessing less alcohol related incidents with driving over there.
