It’s so bad, eating out is barely an expense now
My younger brother is a Regional Manager for McDonalds and he said that the inflation is also why drive thru lines are so long everywhere now. You can get a value meal for like $5 or $6, even though they used to be $3.00.
People assume they are going to spend around $9 per person to eat if they buy groceries anyway and have to cook it themselves.
Instead they just roll through the drive thru and eat and save the hassle, even though it’s less healthy.
I basically eat salads and fruit and the cost is still insane. I bought an apple an orange and a small container of blueberries and it was $7.85
Good luck feeding growing children apples and grapes and blueberries if you have a family, they’re going to want Chicken and Beef.
I earn high single six figures and my wife is a physician so we have more than enough money for the two of us, we have just started paying for peoples groceries in the stores now.
