Where It’s Not Safe
And true happiness in general...

The times I’ve been the MOST happiest as well as seen other people who are happy is when I was helping someone else and they appreciated it...

They were not only social....but they were helping/serving and giving back to others...

Probably the reason why parents/coaches/father figures/older homies feel so fulfilled when their mentor/kid/lil homies grows up to be something.....

Instead of focusing on themselves & acquiring material things...

There are celebrities who have everything, fukk the baddest hoes, smoke expensive weed & are still miserable.

As we focus on being more individualistic in this society...we have higher rates of depression/mental illness...

When we are more community/family orientated....we tend to be happier and lead more productive lives.

The happiest people I know are social & give back to others, not neccessarily the richest or wealthiest people....

There are rich men who have no one at their funerals, and poor men that have a thousand...

Yep, making the future brighter is much more fulfilling than this material shyt. I am considered a happy person, and 99 percent of people I associate with first thing they say is he will help you with anything. An OG from my old hood once said "Paper chasing is cool, but when the paper caught then what?":ohhh:

Yup.

When it's all said and done, people will remember you for how you treated others and not the material things you had.

Sadly, it will be too late for many to figure it out by the time they're on their deathbed.

I agree. My friend makes more money than me but her career doesn’t make her feel fulfilled. On the other hand, my job makes me feel like I make a difference everyday. Sometimes I’m a little envious of her paycheck but then I’m reminded of the impact I make and the feeling fades a way.

That’s real. I’m transitioning out of my job partially for this reason. The pay, benefits, hours, everything is on point, but I don’t feel like it’s doing much of anything to benefit people as a whole, so it basically lacks any meaning to me. Add to that it’s not interesting or challenging in any good ways at this point. Over time I guess I’m learning that the salary without the feeling of doing something meaningful and actually contributing positively to society ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.
