Which albums are weak in your opinion?

It's not that his albums are wack (I haven't listened to anything post-War & Peace. I tried one of the later albums and it was ). Cube is definitely a talented rapper who contributed to the game.

I'm just saying his overall material aint comparing with Nas/Jay-Z... you know, the obvious goats. Cube's production is nowhere near as good as Nas's or Jigga's. And Cube aint on their level rapping wise.

Nas has a notoriously trash ear for beats. Come on now...

Cube's discography leaves him in the dumpster.

Big? :dead: Dude released 2 albums.

As for Jay, it is pretty close, but Cube's peak work is better. I wouldn't be mad if you said HOV has a better discography.

And what d'you mean he ain't on their level rap wise? How do you define that? Because he isn't as technical? Lyrically he certainly is.

Nas also has TONS of songs. He's rapped on more dope beats than almost any rapper in the history of the genre (if you include his rare/unreleased material). so while his production choices are 50/50, it's spread out over a long time of activity.

Cube's discog aint seeing Nas. Respectfully.

Cube doesn't approach awe-levels like Nas nor has swagger-awe levels like Hov. Cube's great but he aint on their level. You know this and that's why OP is asking the question in the first place.

I can respect this :ehh:

I would say outside of obvious commercial appeal I could see Cube>>Big

How? This dude had the rap game on lock in 1990-1991, saying the most outrageous shyt (yet truthful) and he still went platinum. His voice and subject matter commanded respect and attention. His swagger was different to HOVs, and he reached levels of awe beyond Nas tbh.

Also you can't give credit to sheer volume because it is inevitable in that case that someone will rap over 'x' number of dope beats. Nas doesn't make albums as good as Cube does. That much is obvious. If you wanna go the unreleased stuff, Cube still has a ton of great work through compilations or extra material etc. And then where does Pac factor into this equation?

A lot of reasons to me personally, even though I feel he is a legend and was great. I think he had quite a fall off after the N.W.A work and the early solo ish and never recaptured that. So to me that hurts the discography which therefore hurts the placement. He had a great voice and delivery, lyrically was just above average to me though overall. It comes down to the fact that there are just MC's and artists I believe are better and more skilful with better discographies. Not mad at anyone who feels he is though cause he's dope but I don't think he would crack my top 20.

crazy flow

underrated post. Cube's flow is 'rudimentary' in comparison to Nas and Hov. Nas and Hov are more fluid and that allows for a better listening experience.

shyt... I'd rather listen to Royal Flush than Cube, and he didn't impact the game nearly as much as Cube. So comparing Nas to Cube? Game over.

rap has progressed artistically since then, breh

You don't even believe that. Nas's writing is levels beyond Cube. Far more poetic (and poetry is what lasts)

Obvious? to who? :what:
