Nothing insane about it though. Both series declined in terms of quality and sales. Dino Crisis 2 was a step backwards from 1 and 3 was awful. Onimusha didn't decline as sharply, but it did decline bit by bit. Games in general became more about multi-player and less about singleplayer although Sony is bringing the latter back. We have Nioh now and I don't even know how Dino Crisis would work in 2017 without a big AAA budget behind it, which Capcom is trying to move away from.

We don't have Parasite Eve or Tenchu either. :mjcry:

Dark souls killed extreme action.

Casuals needed something that required less skill and coordination.

Didnt help that only 2 companies were capable of making these types of games and then one developed platinum and the other was a prick who sold out to Microsoft

Everything white folks tried to mimic was a shell of what the japanese were doing.

God of war
Dmc

But they found their groove with last of us, uncharted, dead space, horizon, witcher.
Dark souls didn't kill the hack and slash genre, the hack and slash genre killed itself by releasing mediocre games that didn't resonate with fans.

:wow: you took it all the way back my guy... tenchu 1 and 2 was piff. Parasite eve 1 and 2 are some of the best games I played during the psx era

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
platinum makes those games now

don't sleep on metal gear rising and bayonetta
I hate bayonetta 2 wasn't ported to ps4 :mjcry:
Metal Rising was cool until that bullshyt end boss:stopitslime:
Suda51 made some great third person joints..
The last dope third person game I finished was "The Evil Within"(outside The Last of Us)..
It's hard to consider Open World games true third person in nature due to the nonlinear game play but I keep seeing Horizon Dawn mentioned, gotta check this out..:ehh:
