Did y'all mothafukkas go to Degrassi or some shyt? :skip:

I went to school in a area FILLED with high schools and I don't think this happened at any of them.

The folks who were good at sports were usually also the best in academics too.:jawalrus:

The finest girls were in NHS and took all AP classes :ohlawd:

Our valedictorian was the president of Mu Alpha Theta, the Debate team, in NHS and Captain of the basketball team:mjlol:

Usually the kids who lack social skills were dumb as fukk and losers who will end up working at Dollar General for the next 50 years:mjlol:

Cool kids got good grades and had a healthy social life :jawalrus:

Well atheletes usually get better grades because they're athletes. Dallas schools are big on football and at my school half the damn teachers were coaches :martin:
If you played football you didn't even have to go to ISS while regular kids did, so that dont rreally count.
And its not so much as smart, as it is being timid.

Nah breh

If you're good at one thing chances are you gonna be good at something else if you try to be :manny:

My school stressed education so hard, a low C got you suspended from playing for that week and a D your parents had to come have a meeting with the principal cause you fukkin up :yeshrug:

In my junior year our point guard had to miss two weeks for not turning in his homework for a week.

Right, thats the thing. Athletes keep their grades up cuz they have to. Not really cuz they're smarter than everyone else. I vividly remember in HS nikkas would just get in a group, sit on desk and talk and play all period then at the last 5 minutes would copy someones work and turn it in. Half the time the teacher didnt even care either :manny:

At my high school you had to be acing 5-6 AP classes and busting a 1400 or better on the SAT to be considered "smart"

Unless you on some Myron Rolle type ish, ain't no real athletes performing academically at that level.

Some of the "smart" kids played a sport but it was like swimming or tennis.

When I hear stories of a QB or point guard being valedictorian of his school, I know it was a weak ass high school on an academic level.

I knew a bunch of dumb asses in advanced placement classes and who graduated with honors. It's so easy these days to accomplish minor accolades all you have to do is show up do the work and barely scratch the surface of comprehending the subject matter. In grade school it's harder to get into the IV league and display actual brilliance and promise. It's the same as honor roll at first you think everyone who gets it is a genius until you reach 5th grade and realize everyone can get it if they do their homework.

The real brilliant students have a deeper train of thought than most and often times out their best foot forward when deciding to achieve academic excellence. They have the brilliance the work ethic and the desire to excel so it comes to no surprise that they chose academics over associating with their peers who won't get them into any of the best schools by association.

Iono bruh. Them AP classes were hard as f**k, to me. I took AP English in 11th grade, and we had to read 300 page books in a week, and be able to communicate in detail on how the story went. You combine that with AP Calculus, AP Physics, and AP History and you're in for a long year if the teachers were hardcore about it. My junior year of high school was more difficult than any of my years of undergraduate and graduate college work.

You ain't crushing a schedule like that unless you putting in 5-6 hours a night studying.

AP Is challenging for people who aren't quite at that level. Not saying I was cause I know I wasn't but I knew of some people who would breeze through classes like that.

Because nikkas live vicariously through the media. All the "elite" people were popular, no matter what they were elite at. Anti-social people DON'T WANT people around them, so people don't be around them.

:shaq2:Athletes dumb as hell breh. And i was an athlete in high school, we only cared about academic eligibility not academic excellence. We took the most basic classes, clowned all day, chased skirts and slept at our desks. Most of the athletes were functionally retarded, and the system is set to let star players skate thru. i remember times my gpa magically went up right before the season, then going back to failing after the season
