Someone please explain this to me.
Like nikkas get they own shoe all the time, but none have even been close to stealing Jordans place, whether they're on reebox, addidas or Nike. Not only that but the Jordan brand is more than Sneakers, they got backpages, shirts, hoodies socks etc.. at hgih price that people will still pay for without thinking twice.

Really why does his brand shyt on all others

Smh how your phone gonna autocorrect backpack to backpages...it autocorrects to terms you use the most

Cause its been maybe the best marketing campaign in shoe history.
Remember how his 1st pair were banned from being worn in games, but he wore them anyway (if I remember correctly) openly defying the league creating hype, and making the shoe a must have and bubble. Then they just dropped hot campaign after hot campaign. Plus with him winning and being must watch TV and the biggest athlete in the world at the time. It was perfect.

Sonny Vacalro made it all happen he knew Jordan was the guy to have his own shoe. Nike was hesitant on just having Jordan by himself they wanted a team of players to market behind but Sonny convinced them to not only sign Jordan but to put all their marketing behind him but also it couldn't be a regular shoe it had to be marketable.

If you want to know who's responsible for all the shoe and equipment deals watch 30 for 30 Sole Man it's on Netflix

Sonny is responsible for getting Jordan to Nike but TINKER was the one who made Jordan stay. Jordan's first 2 sneakers(designed by Peter Moore) were cool but Jordan didn't like them too much. The air jordan 1 was popular thanks to the NBA banning the now infamous and highly sort after "bred" (black/red) pair and fine Jordan 5,000 a game for wearing them. Then Moore and Nike tried to add "luxury" to the next shoe, the jordan 2 inspired by an women's boot from Italy. They had faux leather and had them made in Italy. After those, Jordan was ready to bounce as he was always an Adidas guy. In fact if Adidas had offered anything close to what Nike was giving him, he would have went with the 3 stripes. Even after the cash Nike threw at him, Jordan was like... :scust:

What made him stay was Tinker Hatfield, a man who pretty much saved Nike as for as Im concerned. He designed such classics as the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Huarache runners, Air Trainer 1s, Air Raid and others. He was sent over to help Mike stay. The first jordans were designed without Mike present to give any insight. This time Tinker sat with Jordan and asked him what he wanted on his next shoe. What came after that, the Air Jordan 3 revolution, is probably in my opinion, the most important Basketball shoe in history. It saved Nike, helped propel the jordan line to what it is today, and started the influence of the urban sector in the sport wear industry. Then the nikka started winning titles back to back to back and everyone likes a winner. Then you had the classic commercials with Spike Lee, classics sports moments while wearing the shoes, and the rest is well.. you know...

Well obviously because the greatest who ever played is endorsing them.

Then Jordan's are pretty fashionable for a basketball shoe

nikkas will say it's jordan

like nikkas will say it's apple

but lets be real.... what series of shoes is better?

who can you line up next to 1-20 jordans and have a better shoe?

who can you take a top 5 of and match up with the top 5 J's?

just like iphones... if it was that shytty, people wouldn't buy it.. i don't care who's name is on it and what they doing... if jordan was dropping some ugly ass k-mart looking shoes that fell apart, he would be the GOAT with the WOAT shoe

legacy

so many years of classic solid design backed by the biggest name in sports
winning titled in the same exact shoes ... alot of them were and still are ahead of their time

and im not even a sneakerhead like that really but i lived through that shyt

I think the legacy and watching him wear certain ones each year makes them special kind of how the lebrons are to a very lesser extent
like you can see all the shoes lebron won and lost the finals in and they are cemented in history as those years shoes

like if lebron ever does a dunk contest .. his shoe sales will skyrocket .. they will be known as the dunk contest lebrons forever and be instant classics

a lot of people here are saying its because its jordan but it was really just advertising genius. putting a new and different model of the shoe out each year and having the goat wear it before release made everyone watching the nba pay attention. because they got hatfield they were able to get some of the freshest designs out, and getting rid of the swoosh for the jumpman gave the impression that it was so good it needed its' own logo. having a new one each year made it an event, and owning the newest jordans became necessary for anyone trying to stunt. nike just understood the way consumerism works well enough
