What makes a Game a 10?

A 10 does everything right in its class, yet has mass appeal.

From what I have seen, 10/10 games are generally easy to pick up, have a great balance of fun and challenge, bring something new to the table, and have some degree of replayability.

but a 10 for me is something that I’d personally rate a top gaming experience in my life that I will remember and replay from time to time.

Fallout 3 is arguably the most glitchy game I've ever played. The engine was dated back in 2008. It's a 10/10 to me.

San Andreas has one of the most outlandish stories in gaming. It's a 10/10 to me.

I rate games based on my personal enjoyment. Couldn't care less about general technical issues, graphics, ect.

for me it's just a game that pushes the envelope and keeps me locked in or wanting more whether its 13 hours or 120. Games where the flaws don't do enough to deter me from losing hours immersed in it.

A 10/10 doesn't have to be perfect but it's one of those games that to me defines a genre or at, the very minimum, the generation of games it represents.

Like You can't define

Nintendo without Super Mario or the Legend of Zelda or Sega with Sonic the Hedgehog or Streets of Rage.

A game that draws me in and makes me forget about the concept of time. 2k and madden used to be like that. Gta, god of war, final fantasy, resident evil, even games like civilization, one of my personal favorites.

The game has to be a totally engrossing experience from beginning to end, tight controls, great challenging gameplay, engaging narrative, little to a few glitches, replayability and of course fun af.
