This thread is sort of like the juvenile posts that women make on Tumblr and Instagram about what a "real man" does.
And it's all bullshyt.

Because none of these characteristics have anything to do with being a man.
It has everything to do with being an adult. And everything that one would say about a "real man" could be said about a "real woman".

To quote @CinnaSlim

"Becoming a leader. Taking responsibility for his actions. Knowing the difference being right and wrong and having the courage to do whats right for his family and community. Courage, wisdom, strength and integrity.

Basically, just being a responsible adult.
Cowards who shirk their responsibilities are just boys."

What about that does not apply to women?
All of it does.

And I'm not out to pick on Cinna's comment. It's a fine quote and one I agree with.

But if people start trying to tailor these ideas to what a man is supposed to be and what a woman is supposed to be, you know what you'll end up with?
Gender roles.

The same gender roles that today's youth and today's feminist are going out of their way to denounce as outdated and harmful.

So people really need to either embrace the idea that men and women do have gender roles that they need to adhere to in order for there to be a functional society...or they need to quit this bullshyt about what a "real"/"grown" man and woman really is.

I don't mean to get carried away though.

Men do what they got to do, and take responsibility for their actions and the welfare of their families.

If you aren't taking care of yourself and you aren't taking care of your family you're not a man in my eyes. You're either still a boy that needs to grow up, or you're a hoe ass nikka whose most likely living off a bytch.
