Durant scores the same as melo, at a better percentage, with roughly the same perimeter shooting style and is just as clutch.

He also does pretty much everything else better on the court except defense (and melo isnt' a top defender)

Durant has more trophies. Has gotten farther in the playoffs, and that's with Melo being around twice as many years as Durant.

Yea that's why I didn't mention Felton . This Coney Island guy sounds like Colin cowherd who makes hating Melo his other selling point to help reaffirm his whiteness . What was kd excuse on Sunday when Melo schooled him or all the times Melo and Bron beat him ? Or when Russ and other guys freeze him out the offense ? people Accept these madeup Melo ideas. He only cares about his stats ?yet Bron and kd openly discuss this stat nonsense while Melo doesn't . Your just seeing what you want to see.

....KD and Melo only guarded each other sparringly that game. It was give and take on both ends of the floor enough to call it a wash. Melo beasted Thabo and Ibaka (mainly on the offensive glass) for the majority of the game. And the fact that Russell shoots more than KD is not a knock on Russ or KD....it's a direct reflection of how little imagination Scott Brooks has to his offense. If you're playing dribble drive iso ball all game, then I would expect Russ to get his more. If you "watched" the game Sunday, they actually telestrated a bucket of KD's and they literally drew a big circle following KD run around! Brooks offense is terrible. It's the reason they can't beat the Heat and were in danger of losing to the Spurs last year (until they started using better ball movement). The whole "take turns" on offense only get you so far (ask Bron and Wade their first year together). And that's what the Thunder do. As for the Melo and KD debate, I wouldn't argue strongly against either one. My only issue is that people feel the need to crap on a player to big up the one they're riding for. Tell me why Melo is a better player than a 24 year old, avg just as many points as him, shooting 50/40/90, leading the league in free throw shooting, and avg more assists and rebounds without bringing in weird measuring sticks like "his teammates freeze him out". Just simply point to what Melo does better without sounding foolish by crapping on one of the best seasons modern basketball has ever witnessed.....
